Another Idiot Politician

Another scandal, another resignation.. how many does this make this year? My heart is broken. I don't see a future for my son in this country.

Challenge Day 5

You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You must do the thing which you think you cannot do. {Eleanor Roosevelt}

Thanks for your comments and support.. I made my list, and I was actually halfway successful. The scrap-couch is clear. The dishes are done. The kitchen counters are cleaned and the floor is mopped. Zion has enough clean clothes to get him through tomorrow, and since I'll be home NOT SLEEPING all day tomorrow, I plan to get four loads of laundry finished and put away.

As I'm doing this, I will be looking fear in the face. I'm cleaning out our closets and EVERYTHING that hasn't been worn this year or doesn't fit is going in the Planet Clothes bin at the corner. EVERYTHING. I'm not kidding people.

If you don't hear from me by Thursday, send in the Guard.

Challenge Day 4

Life's challenges are not supposed to paralyze you, they're supposed to help you discover who you are. -Bernice Johnson Reagon

Ok. It's definitely getting harder - this is like a diet gone horribly, horribly wrong. I need to remember that I'm not doing this just to torture myself - this is definitely a good thing.

So far, it hasn't been working.

Challenge Day 3

Trying to keep myself on track here, but it's tricky, because with my schedule I never know if it's officially tomorrow, or still today with an extra 6 or 7 hours..

Anyhoo, my wonderful quote for today is this:

"We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, therefore, is not an act but a habit." ~ Aristotle

I have not been a good girl this week. I bought my expensive freaking hand lotion (ooooooh so good) and a copy of Sommerset Studios. But have any of you ever seen that magazine? It's amazing.. really, really amazing..

BUT, as amazing as it is, you know I didn't need it. It just added more clutter to my car. Eventually, it will be adding more clutter to my house, my family, and my life. I have book after book and magazine after magazine that I just don't have time to read. Why am I buying more? It's ridiculous.

I haven't cleaned anything. Nothing is organized, nothing's been thrown out. I just haven't had the time. For tomorrow, my big goal (baby steps, sir, baby steps) is to write down some small goals. I'm thinking I need a list of things that I can achieve in about 10 minutes' time. If I can accomplish that tomorrow, I'll call this challenge a success, and become a bureaucrat.

Until then.. I'll be chewing on this quote. I thought it was appropriate.

Challenge: Day 2

Bite off more than you can chew, then chew it. - Ella Williams

Oh yeah, baby. Here we go.
