One of Those Nights

I love these evenings, with Mike gone at a concert & Zion happily tucked away in his crib.

This house was so hot -- it was still 84 degrees in here at 9:00. Usually, when it's this hot, I don't want anyone to touch me, but Zion was in a cuddle-mood, and I couldn't resist it.

I turned off the lights in my scrap room and we sat in the dark next to the open window with the breeze blowing his (fraggle) hair while we listened to Beth Hart sing the blues. I know, I know -- it sounds really cheesey. But I think this was one of those nights that will stay in my heart forever.

PaisleyPaisleyPaisley

Ok. If you know anything at all about me, you know that I LOVE the color purple. In my old house, when I was single, I painted my kitchen cabinets PHOENICIAN PURPLE. It was beautiful. Glossy. Purple. I also had a chalkboard-paint refrigerator, though, so there's no accounting for taste. (oh my gosh, it was so much fun -- everytime I had a party, everyone would draw pictures and sign the refrigerator, and then I'd take a picture the next day [I generally refer to this as the hangover part of the day] before I erased the whole thing to start over again)

But I digress. So I LOVE purple. We have this back bedroom in our house that used to be a sleeping porch. Someone however many years ago enclosed it and insulated it and yadda yadda yadda -- it's a bedroom now. But it's surrounded by windows. It's like a 6'x12' room, and it has 7 windows in it! Very little wall space.

So when we bought this house, I immediately claimed this room for the land of Sara. I was like OH MY GOSH this would be the absolute BEST scrap room EVER.

Alright. So it's purple (duh). A very nice shade of purple -- really really light lavendar -- I think it's called "Winter Solstice." Really airy and happy purple. Then, Lisa gave me some PURPLE SHELVES. These, my friends, are not just any purple shelves.

THEY ARE PURPLE PAISLEY SHELVES.

If there's anything I love more than purple, it's paisley. I am a SUCKER for paisley.

I have purple paisley shelves.

It's time to reclaim the scrapping area. I'll be taking pictures next week (if I can get my flippin' camera to work). Please pray for me and my scrap room.

Hmm

Ok, I was feeling bitter last night. Having family issues.. they do that to you. I'm over it now.

Today's going to be a good day. I HAVE NEW PURPLE PAISLEY SHELVES TO HANG IN MY SCRAPPING ROOM -- which, by the way, I will be reclaiming from sister this afternoon. It's time for all kinds of spring cleaning. And I'm planning on making lasagna for dinner.

I'll keep you posted, but I'm hoping it's a good, productive day. =)

Happy Tuesday to everyone else out there in blog-land.

Ever Feel Like You're Being Taken Advantage Of?

Yeah. Me too.

Ahhh - Productivity

Alright, so today was better. I got to go to the NSD Birthday Bash. Have I mentioned that I'm people-claustrophobic? I HATE large groups of people - I'm really a big nerd. For real. Don't like heat, don't like people.. I can't stand it when someone invades my bubble. Yep - I'm one of those weird bubble people. I don't like hugs, I really don't like kisses, and I'm not a big fan of people standing really close to me, unless it's my husband.

So, after my 15 hour shift at work, I drove from Lee's Summit to NKC and stood outside that little tiny store with 50 other people. Did I mention that I left Lee's Summit having to pee? Yeah. I was not a happy camper. It's ok, though -- got to see Shawn (and Bethany and Corey), Michele & Sunni, and I got some cheap stuff, and then I got some free stuff, so I'll let a few people elbow in on my personal bubble. It worked out ok.

I CAN'T WAIT TO SCRAP SHAWN'S BETHANY PICTURES! I got the girliest paper ever, and I may even add some sparkles before it's all said and done. I'm so excited.

Anyway, then I went to KSD and spent even more money. My poor husband. He doesn't even ask now. I got home and showed him all of my very exciting purchases and told him all about my morning, and God love him, he just smiled and nodded and congratulated me on the great deals. I think he knew that this just wasn't the day to be snotty about it.

So, here I am, feeling productive and fairly happy, and I'm gonna go get started on my trading pages pics. I'll keep you posted. =)
