Challenge - If I Could Be Anything..
Ok, from Miss Lisa, if you could be anything in the world, career-wise, what would you be?
This is a really hard question for me. The only thing I ever really wanted to do as a career was to be a zoologist. I wanted to go to Africa and work on a wildlife preserve with big kitty cats - lions, tigers, pumas, jaguars.. you get the idea.
There are several things wrong with this. The first is that it takes 8 years of full time schooling to complete a master's degree in this field, and people, I have zero motivation. I'd never make it. The second problem is that I'd be in Africa - hello, you know, I'm the chick who HATES HEAT. the third problem is that if I actually MADE it through all of those years of school to achieve my masters' degree, and was qualified to do this, I'd have to apply for grants and research funds and so on. I'd never get my freaking student loans paid off!
And duh, the fourth problem is that you can't drag an unwilling husband and child through the African desert. I don't think they have a whole lot of auto parts stores there, either.
I never really had big dreams when I was kid. I wanted to be a mom for a long time, and then I decided I didn't want to do that - I just wanted to party. About the time I decided that, I became a mother. Now, that's really the only thing I want to do. I think running a SB store would be awesome, but I'm afraid that I wouldn't like SB'ing anymore. I'd LOVE to be a professional scrapbooker - like Elsie or Ali. Teach classes and travel the world..
I just don't see it happening, though.

Sara,
You crack me up with your "break down" of why being an African zoologist isn't quite in your cards these days ...
And, I bet that Ali and Elsie both doubted they would be such big SB icons when they first started too ... don't close any doors Miss Talented You.
I don't think Mike and Zion would mind going to Africa :)
I could so totally see you as an Ali or an Elsie!! Don't pass on your dreams you never know when they could really come true!!!
Tricky to balance the practicalities of life with dreams. Dreaming the impossible is kind of fun though, even if we know it wouldn't work. It's fun to pretend.! Great observations Sara.
I always wanted to be a mommy...a GOOD mommy who loved with unconditional love. So I have almost fulfilled that dream as my kids have all almost flown the coup.
So what is in store for me in my next faze of life...who knows...I'm just going with the flow...but like you I'd like it to be something to do with scrapbooking.
