Oh Yeah..
While I'm here, and since the forum's down, I need to report in on some stuff...
I sent out a "Plea for Donations" several days ago. I'm happy (ecstatic, thrilled, overwhelmed) to report that several people have COMPLETELY come through.
I would post this in the forums but THEY'RE DOWN (I'm not bitter, you understand, just making an observation), so, I may have to do it again when (if) they come back up.
First, Maricar - who, for those of you who don't know (does anybody not know?), just moved to Louisiana three weeks ago - sent a box of BRAND NEW stuff. Twister, paper, notebooks, scissors, watercolors, markers, books... I can't even remember everything, there was so much. Maricar, I can't imagine being in the middle of everything you're into right now, and still finding the time to be as generous as you have been. Thank you, thank you, thank you, from the bottom of my heart.
Next is Michele - GWHomey on the SD forums - who has been carting this stuff around in her van for a week, because I kept getting sidetracked and not being able to call her. Friday, getting ready to leave town, she somehow managed to make time to meet me at the church to drop this stuff off. She had her two adorable girls with her, and they carried armload after armload into the Fellowship Hall. I kept trying to help, but I was in SHOCK with all the stuff they were bringing in! There was an entire box of coloring books, a scooter, some roller skates, TONS of outdoor equipment, balls, a kitchen playset, a basketball goal, a bowling set, kids' golf clubs, one of those plastic rolling drawer thingies filled with dress-up clothes, an outdoor folding chair, a magnifying glass.. IT WAS CRAZY. I finally asked the girls if they even had any toys left! Then, when they were finished unloading, Michele pulled out a TELEVISION - a tv/vcr combo, with attachments for the car and everything! I offered to buy it from her, and she declined.
Finally, Miss Micki - dottecom forum lady - has managed to send a whole TON of stuff over. I have a huge box of kitchen stuff waiting for me to make room in my car at KSD. She offered a COMPUTER, which I'm still completely floored about, and says she still has stuff coming!
I never, in my wildest dreams, imagined that I would receive this kind of response. I was anticipating a couple of puzzles, maybe a board game or two, but this is SUCH a huge blessing. I am so grateful to all of you who are making an effort to assist me with this mess I've managed to get myself into.
Thank you so, so much - I don't know what I would do without you. =)

You are welcome Kiddo! Happy to help!
how wonderful! Unfortunatly we make very regular trips to goodwill depositing our extras, so we didn't have anything to donate!
