Plea for Donations

As most of you already know, I have been asked to start and direct an after-school care program at my grandmother's church. This is a very small church and it's struggling just to survive, so there just isn't a lot of funding to cover things like equipment and supplies. As a result, I have promised the board that I would rely on donations to get the program started.

AND as most of you already know, I am NOT independently wealthy. That's why, as much as it pains me to do this, I am sending out a plea for donations. I'm posting a list of things that will be needed to start this program. I know some of you have children that have outgrown toys and things.. if you happen to have anything laying around that you think would be of use to this program and are willing to donate, I would be FOREVER grateful.

It's FANTASTIC Karma points, too. Seriously. =)

Also, if any of you out there are garage sale/flea market/pick things up on the side of the road people (like I am) and you happen to see something interesting, please give me a call or post here and let me know so I can go grab it. Thanks for taking the time to read this.

PS - The program will be serving elementary school children K-5.

Wish List

-Athletic equipment - balls, hula hoops, baseball gloves, etc.
-Age-appropriate books
-Puzzles
-Carpet remnants/gymnastics floor mats
-Board games, board games, board games
-Art supplies (paper, scissors, glue, paint, etc.)
-Big shirts to serve as smocks
-Children's magazines
-Costumes (old uniforms, dress-up clothes, etc.)
-CD player/stereo
-Plastic totes (rubbermaid, sterilite)
